"Iron Horse 1"

This Kata is believed to come from:

This kata was previously known a Naihanchi, Funakoshi changed it to mean Iron Horse to honor his instructor whose stances were strong like iron. The origin of Naihanchi is unknown, although it is believed to be in use before the Pinans. It is usually accredited to being created by Master Matsumora. When translated it means "fighting holding your ground" or "Internal Conflict." In Okinawan, it seems to be the combination of two verbs which signify "do snap"
