Shotokan
Shotokan is a considered a traditional Japanese martial art, created in Okinawa, Japan. The style was introduced to mainland japan in 1922 simply as "Kara-Te" and later popularized by and named after Gichin Funakoshi.

Kyokushin Kai
Kyokushin Kai is an organization of the Kyokushin Karate style, and translates to "Ultimate Truth". Kyokushin karate was derived from the Goju ryu style of Okinawan karate by Mas Oyama with influences from Shotokan. Upon his death, the style split into multiple organizations, one of which is Kyokushin Kai.
